Bedroots ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI garden-design app and the website at bedroots.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights under UK GDPR. We are the data controller. Questions: hello@bedroots.com.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data — your email and authentication details when you sign in.
  • Garden content — photos you upload, the boundaries you draw, and the style, budget and maintenance preferences you choose, so we can generate your design and bill of materials.
  • Usage data — how you interact with the app and site, to improve the product.
  • Device & cookie data — standard technical information and cookies/identifiers (see "Cookies and affiliate tracking").

2. How we use your data

  • To generate the garden visualisations and costed product lists you request.
  • To operate, secure and improve the app and website.
  • To measure interest and, with consent, send updates you ask for.

Legal bases: performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, and consent (for optional analytics/marketing).

3. Cookies and affiliate tracking

When you follow a product link to a retailer, that link may pass through an affiliate network (such as Awin) which sets a cookie so any resulting purchase can be attributed to us and we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. These networks and retailers process data under their own privacy policies. You can decline non-essential cookies and still use the core features. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

4. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run Bedroots (e.g. cloud hosting and AI image processing) under contracts that require them to protect it. We do not sell your personal data. Affiliate networks receive only the click/cookie data needed to attribute a purchase.

5. Retention

We keep your account and design data while your account is active, then delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period unless we must keep it to meet legal obligations.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, delete or port your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Email hello@bedroots.com. You may also complain to the UK ICO (ico.org.uk).

7. Children

Bedroots is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version with a revised date.
